Q&A
How does this differ from how you used to handle it?
I used to handle people wanting to use my content in an informal manner. Someone would contact me and say, "Hey, Tana, do you mind if I use this in a free thing I'm making?" I almost always said yes, and asked them to give me credit and a link back.
The only difference between that, and the policy above, is that now the guidelines are all spelled out plainly and clearly to see. The CC license basically says the same thing as my previous policy, just formally. There's also no need to contact me unless you're thinking of a use that falls outside something listed.
What about stuff that already exists, like online apps for Mythic? Does this license change anything?
No, it shouldn't. I tried to cover anything that may already be out there that is freely offered to the community. However, if I missed something or you have a concern, please reach out to me.
Is it okay to post screenshots online when I talk about Mythic or screen shares in reviews and actual plays?
Yes. That's Fair Use. You don't even need the license for that. And thank you for playing my games :)
Can I make VTT modules with Word Mill Games material?
Yes, you can, as long as you follow the guidelines above. Please do not charge for the module, and please give attribution and a link back to my site, and all the other things listed.
If I wanted to make a solo module about vampire water coolers, because that's a thing now thanks to GME 2e, is that fine? I mean, who doesn't love vampire water coolers, right?!?
Yes! I would love to see a solo adventure module about vampire water coolers, Wutwo Labs, or anything :)
